First Visit
Our office, as well as the The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) all recommend establishing a "Dental Home" for your child by one year of age. Children who have a dental home are more likely to receive appropriate preventive and routine oral health care.
You can make the first visit to the dentist enjoyable and positive. If old enough, your child should be informed of the visit and told that the dentist and their staff will explain all procedures and answer any questions. The less to-do concerning the visit, the better.
It is best if you refrain from using words around your child that might cause unnecessary fear, such as "needle", "shot", "pull", "drill" or "hurt". The office makes a practice of using words that convey the same message, but are pleasant and non-frightening to the child.
The Dental Home is intended to provide a place other than the Emergency Room for parents.
If your child is over the age of 6, we ask that you allow them to accompany our staff through the dental experience. We are all highly experienced in helping children overcome anxiety. Separation anxiety is not uncommon in children, so please try not to be concerned if your child exhibits some negative behavior. This is normal and will soon diminish. Studies and experience have shown that most children over the age of 6 react more positively when permitted to experience the dental visit on their own and in an environment designed for children.
Our office is set at 70 degrees, so you might want to bring a sweater or a jacket.

Scheduling Appointments
The office attempts to schedule appointments at your convenience. Children 5 and younger are seen in the morning because they are well rested and we can work more slowly with them for their comfort. School children who need dental work are also seen in the morning for the same reason. We will be happy to provide a school excuse note, if you request one. Please notify our office 24 hours in advance if you are unable to keep your appointment.
Financial Information
Payment for professional services is due at the time dental treatment is provided. Every effort will be made to provide a treatment plan which fits your schedule and budget, and gives your child the very best and safest care. We accept personal checks, debit cards, cash, CareCredit and all major credit cards.
Insurance Information
We are in network providers for most insurance companies. If we do not participate with your insurance plan, our staff will assist in processing your insurance forms. Please call us to find out if we are in network with your plan. Our office is committed to helping you. Please bring your insurance information with you on your first visit. We file all insurance electronically, so your insurance company will receive each claim within days of the treatment.
